What does sustainability sustain?
Abstract
The article questions the theory whereupon most current policies are founded in the developing world: climate change. Proposed methodology is comparative research. Results are provided on three sections: i) the skeptics present argumentation endorsed by a large number of scientific critics of climate change; ii) the Colombian reaction summarizes all political measures taken by a country lacking the science, the technology and the research about the topic at hand; and iii) the dark side analyzes some intentions that could easily become a reality, given the widespread belief in climate change. It concludes that solely associating climate change to anthropic activity compels humankind to rethink absolutely everything, as well as forces the unfolding of huge amounts of economic and human resources that could postpone indefinitely any purpose of progress in third world countries.
