Architectural strategy to link the victim population and the biodiverse territory

Abstract

The article proposes the stereotomy as the main compositional strategy of an architecture that integrates nature and territory, forming a link between the victim population of the armed conflict and a memory center. Stereotomy in architecture represents continuity in materials, hiding the interior and being the living image of a rocky and dark cave. However, current buildings are in constant search of light, ventilation, and communication with the environment for users’ comfort. This thesis proposes a community center located in San José del Guaviare in memory of the Colombian armed conflict, which symbolizes a refuge for the victims under the perception that it is born from the earth, as a cave does, but achieving internal spaces that explore natural lighting and ventilation through water paths and abundant vegetation.
