Abstract

The relevance of a material and a process that favors a better appropriation of architecture lies in the study of the everyday life of the communities and the selection of elements configuring places as a collective system balanced with its environment. Thus,
there is evidence of processes that communicate architectural experiences, proposing a method of connection between user and place, linked by the implementation of new construction techniques and technologies, leading to an open and living baseline of
architecture without allowing it to become a typical design exercise for habitability and productivity, nor reducing the principle of contributing positive effects from the encounter with the “spirit of place” whose crucial semiotic preservation establishes
architecture and the social production of space. This writing poses a model of materials and building processes implemented through design strategies involving the participation of the Awa indigenous community in a habitable environment of new
constructive traditions from upgrading the conservative architectural processes towards prioritizing inhabitants’ environmental decisions to reconfigure memory of the place.
